Defibrillator Checklist

Manufacturer guidelines should be consulted and followed where indicated.
Note: All defibrillator performance testing to be undertaken using internal battery (if fitted). Disconnect mains supply (by carrying out all tests on battery, may leave the battery discharged and cannot be used for some time until the battery is recharged).
[ ] Condition of paddles (for cleanliness and pitting) [ ] Time to charge to maximum delivery energy less than 10 Sec
IF FITTED: [ ] Operation of paddle discharge controls [ ] Operation of case discharge controls [ ] Clear and accurate recording of Calibration and ECG signals [ ] Indication of ECG synchronisation occurring [ ] Defibrillation discharge within 150 mSec of ECG synchronisation pulse
AED function [ ] Operation of energy disarming process where charge has not been delivered
PERFORMANCE: [ ] Check delivered energy at 10% of maximum setting. [ ] Check delivered energy at 50% of maximum setting. [ ] Check delivered energy at maximum energy setting.
Note: Reconnect equipment to mains supply on completion of testing.
